About EURAF:
EURAF aims to promote the adoption of agroforestry practices across Europe by supporting efforts to develop awareness, education, research, policy making and investments which foster the use of trees on farms. EURAF has a network of 28 Affiliated Entities in 20 EU countries and 5 outside the EU. Our Mission is to “ensure that there is 10% tree cover on all agricultural land in Europe by 2040”.
We work closely with European institutions, policymakers, and agroforestry stakeholders to drive positive change in the agroforestry sector.
Position Overview:
EURAF is seeking a passionate Junior Communications Officer with a strong interest in agroforestry to contribute to the implementation of EURAF’s communication strategy and assist in the communication and organization activities for the EURAF2026 European Agroforestry Conference taking place in June 2026. The position is full-time (38h).
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an energetic young professional to make a meaningful impact on the future of agroforestry in Europe.
Being recruited for this position does not imply that EURAF would be in a position to offer an employment contract (yet, this may depend on whether funding would be made available).
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Secretary-General and the Project and Advocacy Manager of EURAF, who report to the Board and Executive Committee of the Federation. The activities will be conducted from the office of EURAF in Brussels.
Key requirements & skills:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, coupled with proven creative writing ability (for content, press releases, etc.).

Demonstrated ability to manage and execute social media strategies and other communication campaigns across various platforms.

Strategic planning experience for developing and implementing communication campaigns.

Proficiency in graphic design and video production (e.g., using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).

A strong, genuine interest in agroforestry, agroecology, and sustainable farming.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting EURAF communication efforts
- Communication planning
- Strategic messaging
- Preparing posts for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram
- Creating visuals and/or video material (Canva)
- Newsletter preparation
- Blog article writing
Assisting in EURAF 2026 Conference preparation and communication planning & implementation
- Helping to shape visual identity & branding
- Social media announcements
- Updating conference website
- Communication with the organisation team and partners
- Planning organisation team meetings
- Contributing to strategic planning
Support the day-to-day project activities of EELAP
- communication with project partners;
- assisting in organising meetings;
- writing meeting reports;
- assisting in project implementation plan preparation.
